Who are we? Or from SLZ to IFP-AER.
Established on 16th January 2009 in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Kamerun, the “SPRACHLERNZENTRUM-Bafoussam” (SLZ-Bafoussam) operated for three years.
Following the end of the partnership with the Goethe-Institut Kamerun, the SPRACHLERNZENTRUM Bafoussam became the “SPRACHLERNINSTITUT Bafoussam” (SLI-Bafoussam) in January 2013, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training.
It was in this context that, following Bafoussam, the “SLI-Yaoundé” was established in January 2015, located in Biyem-Assi Carrefour opposite Général Voyages.
Following a recommendation from the supervising ministry in 2025 regarding the diversification of the institution’s training programmes, with the aim of enabling some of its students to be immediately employable locally upon completion of their training through new courses, the SLI became IFP-AER.
The main focus of IFP-AER at present remains the International Languages Section (SLI), which offers intensive and special German language courses. IFP-AER prepares students for the following German language exams:
- Goethe-Zertifikat Start Deutsch 1;
- Goethe-Zertifikat Start Deutsch 2;
- Goethe/ÖSD-ECL Certificate B1;
- Goethe/ÖSD-ECL Certificate B2;
- TestDaF and Goethe Certificate C1, covering five language levels.
However, looking ahead, and in line with the approach set out by the supervisory authority, IFP-AER intends, on the one hand, to prepare candidates for the language exams at the levels mentioned above, and, on the other hand, to expand its training provision to include courses leading to the CPQ (Certificate of Professional Qualification) and the DPQ (Diploma of Professional Qualification).
Our teachers are all professionals in their own right and are thoroughly familiar with the content of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages offered by IFP-AER CAMEROON. Furthermore, they remain at the forefront of teaching methods through frequent and ongoing training, enabling them to provide high-quality support, hence the pass rates for the exams listed above ranging from 60% to 100%.
